Diocesan Schools Wellness Policy (P1420B)

Commitment to Student Wellness

We are committed to nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit. In alignment with the Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend Wellness Policy (P1420), our school promotes a learning environment that supports wellness, good nutrition, and an active lifestyle. We recognize that healthy habits directly impact students’ ability to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our Wellness Goals:

  • Healthy Habits in Learning: Nutrition and physical education are part of our curriculum, helping students develop lifelong habits of healthy eating and regular activity.

  • Active Students: We provide daily opportunities and encouragement for students to participate in physical activities that promote overall well-being.

  • Nutritious Meals: Our qualified food service team offers a variety of affordable, appealing meals that meet students’ nutritional and religious needs. Students enjoy a clean, safe, and pleasant environment with ample time to eat.

  • Participation in Federal Meal Programs: Whenever possible, our school participates in available federal school meal programs to ensure access to nutritious options for all students.

  • High Nutrition Standards: All foods and beverages served or sold on campus meet state and USDA nutrition recommendations.

  • Collaborative Review: We involve students, parents, teachers, food service providers, health professionals, and community members in monitoring and reviewing our school’s wellness plan each year.

Together, we are building a community that values healthy choices, balanced lifestyles, and the joy of caring for the bodies God has given us.
